Tea Time in Worcester!

We love our visits to Worcester.  There is nothing lovelier than to wander along the river in the spring time  and summer.  And..............after a potter around the shops and saunter along the riverbank there is nothing more pleasant than finding a place for a nice cuppa and spot of lunch so........here below are OUR Worcester choices....

Druckers Vienna Patisserie has recently become our most favourite haunt now when we visit Worcester.

Druckers is situated within the traffic free shopping precinct and is near to/next to the departmental store, Beaties.

It is a self service cafe and we always plum for the "egg and bacon kaiser" alongside a pot of tea.  I, Sarah, always have to take a couple of Heinz tomato sauce sachets too.  Any cafe or restaurant that doesn't skimp on sauce sachets and is happy to provide Heinz tomato sauce is a winner with us!

The toilets are situated on the first floor where there is also extra seating.  We tend to prefer to sit upstairs most of the time and especially in the Summer where we particularly enjoy the wonderful cool air conditioning from the ceiling units.....blowing a wonderful cold breeze........

I, Sarah can be seen here enjoying a nice egg and bacon kaiser with Heinz tomato sauce accompaniment!

Andrew, on the other hand, avoids all sauces with vinegar like the plague, enjoys his egg and bacon kaiser WITHOUT sauce............or mustard either!

Worcester Cathedral Cafe, "Priors Parlour Coffee Shop"

This coffee shop has been reviewed for us by Derek and Sarah and I quote their comments below for visitors' information.

"Very friendly staff and a nice cup of filter coffee. It was a nice change of pace after the shopping crowds in the town"

Thanks Sarah and Derek for that!

For that review we think we can easily award this coffee shop our highest award!

We remember this coffee shop as a volunteer run tea room which sold home made cakes and biscuits but have not visited it since it changed format.

The coffee shop is  situated in a room within the cloisters.   We have no idea what the room was used for originally but the present usage is perfect.

The notice on the door advertises that it is non-smoking and the menu is posted there too.  Cakes and snacks are offered.
Toilets are provided in a separate prefabricated  block actually outside the back of the Cathedral.  They are clean and we have found, always open.
Oh and.......by the way..............the Cathedral shop is within the cloisters and only round the corner from the cafe if you want to buy the odd momento of your visit....

Caveat: Our guide is based on our own personal experience/snapshot of a cafe/teashop/restaurant at the time of visiting.  No inference therefore can be taken that the level of service we received on the times visiting was either standard or average.
