Time4tea in Peterborough

hit counter
When we visit Peterborough we always enjoy a visit to the cathedral restaurant after a saunter around the shops and sights.  Peterborough has its own cathedral restaurant, Beckets and you can read all about it below.

Beckets Restaurant is situated within the Cathedral grounds.  To approach it you simply enter the Cathedral quarter (see photo above) and the entrance is on the left.  It is a self service restaurant and totally smoke free.  The food is served hot and we always favour their jacket potatoes and fillings.  The seating area is split between various small rooms.  We recommend that first time visitors do NOT find a seat in the main seating area around the servery area and, instead, make their way to the back of the building where the last room (up some steps) actually has wonderful views of the Cathedral and its close. (see below a view from the window of Beckets looking towards the cathedral close.........spectacular!)

We particularly love the fact that the staff are happy to provide you more hot water for your flagging teapot!

May time is spectacular for blossoming trees.  For the views alone we have to give this our top rating!  (and the loos are clean too!)

Caveat: Our guide is based on our own personal experience/snapshot of a cafe/teashop/restaurant at the time of visiting.  No inference therefore can be taken that the level of service we received on the times visiting was either standard or average.
