The Cotswolds - Batsford Arboretum and Falconry CentreThe Cotswolds just have to be "teashop heaven". And so we intend to add beautiful venues here as we experience them. Our first recommendation just has to be the teashop (The Applestore) at Batsford Arboretum. (please note: this page may take a few minutes to load but we hope you think that the photos are worth the wait once you see them!)
Batsford Arboretum is situated not very far from Moreton in Marsh in the Cotswold District of Gloucestershire and next to Batsford village. The tearooms, The Applestore, is a smoke free establishment with both inside and outside seating. It is situated right next to the garden centre. Visitors can access the tearooms without having to pay and visit the arboretum. The tearooms serve teas, cakes (appear to be home made too!) and light lunches. Light lunches are served between 12 - 2pm on opening days. We visited on a Monday in October and had a wonderful time wandering around the arboretum........as you can see by the photos the Autumn colours are out of this world. After a stroll we went for lunch in the tea rooms and enjoyed home made vegetable soup and granary bread and butter washed down by a big pot of tea. It is waitress service and this was very pleasant and friendly. We were impressed with the fast turn round of orders and the food was piping hot too:-) Andrew is seen here seated inside the tearooms enjoying his soup.........albeit a tad blurred. Be assured.....we will visit again and get a better photo for our visitors here:-) Toilets are well signed and situated only a short way outside the tearooms and are excellent! This establishment is fully deserving of our top rating:
