Heathersfield's Last Meeting

It was the end of an era last Sunday when Linlithgow staged their last meeting at Heathersfield before relocation at the end of the year.

The meeting was seen by a big crowd and featured a strong field including current Monarchs: James Grieves, Kevin Little, Blair Scott, David McAllan. In addition Ross Brady and Stewart McDonald were there although not riding. A host of other riders appeared including Mick Powell, Les Collins, Jon Swales, and the current Linlithgow side.

The meeting was intended to raise fund to help finance the relocation of Linlithgow to a new site. Alan Robertson is currently investigating possible sites in the area.

He has an option on one site, while not ideal is suitable. The feeling is that Linlithgow will run with this site unless something better comes up. Clearly planning permission will have to be obtained but the local authority are reputedly supportive of the move.

Suggestions are that the site is nearer Armadale than Linlithgow. This would place it within the area of West Lothian council rather than Falkirk where the current track is situated.

John Campbell has confirmed that if the relocated track is available for next season, he will be promoting in the Conference League.

A report of the Farewell to Heathersfield meeting is available.
