Premier League team update

There have been a number of team changes since the last update. Most notable has been the decision of Glasgow to replace Richard Juul with 18-year old Australian Rusty Harrison. This follows him being given an run-out with Lightning at Ashfield where Harrison impressed. Juul has produced some good scores awy for Glasgow but has struggled at home. He came nowhere near his inflated nine-point plus average and it would have been no surprise had he been replaced at any time. However Juul has recently posted some big scores and has shown signs of coming to terms with the Ashfield track. It appears that the decision was made two weeks earlier before Juul's upturn in form.

Berwick still have their problem position at reserve which most see going to Wesley Waite next month as soon as his new average permits his reintroduction to the Bandits team.

Newcastle have given Monarchs' target Rob Grant a trial at reserve. The Diamonds' promotion appear to be looking to make further changes possibly including their former rider Richard Juul but are unable to do anything at the moment as they are way over the points limit despite being bottom of both the Premier National Trophy and Premier League tables and being eliminated from the Cup in the first round.

Workington are looking out for a replacement for former Monarch Barry Campbell, who is out for the season with a neck injury. Recently they have been using Lee Hearne, squeezed out at Newport, as cover.

Stoke have given Edinburgh's David McAllan a trial period to prove his fitness in place of the injured Paul Macklin.

Arena Essex have replaced Jon Underwood, tragically killed in a road accident, by Justin Elkins.

Swindon have been seeking someone to provide temporary cover for their injured reserve Mark Steel and have signed New Zealander Nathan Murray on a transfer from Reading and he will fill-in.
