Following the cancellation of the practice session scheduled for Saturday, Monarchs are looking for an alternative date. Monarchs now hope to have this practice session at Armadale on Tuesday. Good weather will be required on Tuesday to ensure it goes ahead. Practice will start at 5.30 and finish at 7.00pm to allow everyone to go to West Lothian Talk In at the Hillcroft.
Ross Brady, Kevin Little and Blair Scott all practised at Berwick on Saturday although they were restricted to the last hour. Christian Henry was also there but failed to get his bike started. This was down to electrical problems, which were cured within minutes when he returned to the workshop.
Thanks to Sean Courtney, Christian did get some practise at Glasgow on Sunday. Reports coming in suggest that he looked good in his ex-Joe Screen kevlars. Almost as good as Joe, some onlookers suggested! Brian Turner was also in action at Glasgow and reported no problems with his wrist afterwards.
With practise sessions being held around the country, the three tracks still to complete their 2000 team, are checking out hopefuls. At Swindon, reports suggested that Steve Camden, Mark Steel and Jamie Holmes looked the most impressive of the contenders for the Robins' vacant reserve place. Berwick also had a few hopefuls trying out while Stoke have issued an open invitation to anyone wanting a place to come for a trial.
Stoke were rumoured to be signing hot prospect James Mann but this deal appears to have fallen through over terms of pay.
