Blair Scott
Blair in action
Blair gained early experience with the in the Conference with the double winning Linlithgow Lightening team in 1996. He made his debut for Monarchs the same season and was given a regular place in the new Premier League in 1997.
Blair had a fair start but suffered a number of injuries early on causing him to miss much of the early part of the season. After recovering from a skin graft operation on his arm he returned to the side towards the end of May. He struggled on his return to the side initially with mechanical problems and later with confidence. With the cup semi-final second leg against Reading looming, Blair was replaced by Michael Lowrie. Blair picked up some guest bookings and went on tour with Glasgow and ended in the top scorers’ race at Exeter.
With his confidence restored and his bike now going well, Blair came back into the team and came up with a match-winning 7+2 in the away leg of the Cup Final versus Oxford. Blair scored very well for the rest of the season pushing his average up considerably.
Blair likes the bigger tracks such as Exeter and Sheffield and prefers an outside line. He has been known to knock down the perimeter fence on occasions but always bounces back.
Blair started the 1998 season explosively in the Spring Trophy against Glasgow with a double figure score and a place in heat 15 from reserve. He was unaable to sustain this form. He remained at reserve throughout but was Monarchs only ever present in 1998.
The reduced points limit for 1999 enabled Blair to take up a second string place.
Date of birth: 14/5/80, Edinburgh.
