Brady nominated as star of the future

The Edinburgh Evening News has nominated Ross Brady as one of ten 'capital stars who can shine in new millenium'.

The article said of Ross:

"This young man has already stamped his mark on speedway north of the Border in his debut season at senior level. If the Winchburgh teenager can steer clear of injury, he will play a pivotal role in the Capital side's bid to land their first-ever league championship in 2000."

"Seasoned observers eulogised about the Scottish Internationalist's talent even before he joined Monarchs as a fledgling reserve. He didn't disappoint. Within weeks he discarded the No. 7 jacket and progressed to a second-string berth which he made his own."

Ross's progress in 1999 outstripped that of other highly-rated junior riders. This includes his former Peterborough team-mate Oliver Allen and Sheffield's Paul Lee who have, respectively, one and two year's more Premier League experience.

Ross also made his debut for Scotland and, following injury to James Grieves, came straight in at heat leader. He certainly did not look out of place.
