The Celebration!

The Celebration will be staged this Friday at Armadale.

The match scheduled is the Scottish Cup second leg against Glasgow. This Friday's meeting will also constitute the Grand Finale for Monarch's 1999 season and to celebrate the win in the Cup Final against Arena Essex.

Edinburgh hold a one-point lead going in the Scottish Cup into the second leg. Edinburgh will have David McAllan back at number 6 and will probably use rider replacement at number 2. Unfortunately there appears to be no chance of Stewart McDonald coming back. Glasgow will probably be without Emiliano Sanchez and are expected the field a guest at number 5.

The Scottish Cup was not staged last year due to fixture conjestion after a large number of rain-offs at Armadale. Edinburgh hold the Cup after a narrow aggregate win in 1997. Prior to that, the Cup was staged in 1995 when Glasgow won on aggregate.

The Celebration will give supporters the opportunity to be photographed with the Premier League Cup. The emphasis of the evening will be on fun. It is just as well that Monarchs won the cup otherwise it would not have been a very happy occasion!

This will be the last senior meeting in Scotland this year and most likely the last meeting in the north. Glasgow, Newcastle, Berwick, and Workington have already closed down for the season. It is hoped that there will be a big crowd.

The evening will give the riders an opportunity to say their farewell speeches and answer arkward questions from Scott Wilson about their plans for next year.

While this is the last meeting of the year at Armadale, two days later and ten miles down the road the last ever meeting will be held at Heathersfield.
