Cup Final Goes Ahead Next Week

Contrary the the impression given in the column in Speedway Star as reported on this site, the Cup Final will go ahead next week as scheduled, weather permitting.

The away leg is at Purfleet next Friday with the return on Saturday at Armadale. Please note that the start time is slightly earlier than usual at 7.00pm.

Hopefully Monarchs will have two cups to parade at Armadale come next Saturday.

After the Cup Final, the only certain fixture is on Friday 1st October at Armadale in the first round of the Yougn Shield. This is most likely to be against Exeter although it is possible that Berwick may be the opponents. This all depends on the results obtained by the Isle of Wight at Glasgow on Sunday and at home to Newcastle on Tuesday.

The Scottish Cup originally scheduled for next weekend has been postponed to make way for the Cup fixtures. It may be possible to rearrange it for October dependent upon Edinburgh's Young Shield commitments and the date that Glasgow are to close for the season.
