Brian Turner will miss at least the Newport and Reading match this weekend. Brian is due a medical examination on Monday on his injured wrist. This may confirm if his scaphoid is broken. If so he is likely to miss the remainder of the season. This will be a real worry for Edinburgh with the Cup Final and the Playoffs coming up and no obvious replacement available.
Justin Elkins has a broken finger that is currently taped up. He is due a medical examination on Wednesday and appears likely to miss at least the Newport match on Sunday. I am sure that everyone hopes that Justin will be fit to face his former club Reading on Monday.
Hopefully James Grieves will be approaching full fitness by this weekend. He faces a tough schedule with matches for Scotland on Friday and Saturday and others for Monarchs on Sunday and Monday.
Blair Scott also looked more like his own self on Friday after recovering from a bad injury sustained against Glasgow. Blair is likely to face a busy time if rider replacement is used particularly so with Turner injured. Blair can expect seven rides for the forseeable future unless Monarchs are able to use tactical substitutes.
