Edinburgh's Premier League Cup Final against Arena Essex has been scheduled for the end of September.
As expected the first leg of the tie takes place on Friday 24th September at Purfleet with the return at Armadale on Saturday 25th September. This will give the opportunity for Monarchs to celebrate winning the Cup on their home track.
This means that the home leg of the Scottish Cup will have to be cancelled or postponed to October.
Other fixtures have been confirmed. Edinburgh finish their home Premier League fixtures against Arena Essex on Sunday. Monarchs are at Newcastle on Wednesday, September 8th September and complete their Premier League campaign at Reading on Monday 20th September.
This all means that Monarchs will have a third southern tour this year. Many of the Edinburgh team will be at Workington on Saturday September 18th. The following day Monarchs will be at Newport in the second leg of the Premier National Trophy Final before moving on to Reading on the Monday.
Monarchs have Friday September 1st reserved for the first round of the Young Shield play-offs although it could be a week or two before their opponents are known. This is likely to be Exeter, Swindon, Newcastle, Berwick or Arena Essex.
