The Scotland team for the first two Test matches against the England Under-21 side at Berwick on Saturday and Newcastle on Sunday has been named.
The team has five Edinburgh riders and two from Berwick. Ross Brady is the only uncapped rider in the team. The remainder of the squad appeared in the Test series last year.
The team is:
1. Scott Lamb (Captain) (Berwick)
2. David Meldrum (Berwick)
3. Kevin Little (Edinburgh)
4. Ross Brady (Edinburgh)
5. James Grieves (Edinburgh)
6. Stewart McDonald (Edinburgh)
7. Blair Scott (Edinburgh)
The England Under-21 team for the first test at Berwick on Saturday is:
1. David Howe (Captain) (Peterborough)
2. Danny Bird (Isle of Wight)
3. Simon Stead (Sheffield)
4. Paul Lee (Sheffield)
5. Lee Dicken (Hull)
6. Simon Cartwright (Sheffield)
7. Oliver Allen (Swindon).
The side for the Newcastle Test will have Grant MacDonald (Workington) in for Oliver Allen.
England appear to have elected to go with a very young side. They have lost Andre Compton and Leigh Lanham from last years' squad due to age. The other senior riders, Scott Nicholls and Lee Richardson are presumable unavailable or deemed to be beyond this level.
Scotland have lost the now retired Kenny McKinna from the 1998 squad but this has been partially compensated by the emergence of Ross Brady.
