Premier League Cup
Monarchs has successfully come through a tricky first round tie against Newcastle and are joined in the second round by Sheffield, Reading, Newport, and almost certainly Exeter. Arena Essex, Berwick and Swindon earlier received byes into the second round. The home leg for the second round is pencilled in for July 16th. On current form, Monarchs need fear no-one over two legs.
Premier National Trophy
Last weekend Swindon qualified for the Semi-Finals as winner of the Central Group. Newcastle qualified earlier after topping the Northern Group. The Southern Group is unlikely to be sorted out until Newport entertain Arena Essex early next month. Newport seem likely qualifiers unless Arena Essex can get at least a draw at Newport. Monarchs are certain to take the wild card place in the Semi-Final if they win at Glasgow on Sunday. Otherwise Sheffield may be contenders.
Premier League
Monarchs are clear at the top of the Premier League and will remain there if they beat Arena Essex at Armadale on Friday. This will be worth three points since Monarchs have already won away at Purfleet. Another three-pointer follows the next week when Workington visit Armadale. Monarchs then face a tougher test with a trip to Swindon followed by the visit of Reading.
Premier League Fours
The Northern Fours qualifiers take place over a single weekend commencing June 18th. Monarchs start as favourites to top the Northern Group. Their team, injuries permitting, will consist of Peter Carr, James Grieves, Kevin Little, and Ross Brady with Stewart McDonald as the likely reserve.
Other Premier League competitions include the Premier League Best Pairs, the Premier League Riders Championship, and the Young Shield play-offs. After two months of the season, Monarchs are still in with a chance of winning all of them.
