There has been changes in the line-ups for a number of Premier League teams. This stems from the early results, the publication of the first Green Sheet Averages, and the shake-out in the Elite League.
Certain teams have been looking to replace rider perceived to be underperforming. The publication of the Green Sheet Averages will allow teams to build to a new points limit of 45 rather the original 41. While very few Premier League riders below heat leader level were available, the movements within the Elite League has resulted in the release of, for example, Jon Armstrong, Seemond Stephens, and Barry Campbell. More are likely to be released as the remaining Elite League teams complete sufficient matches for the new averages to become affective.
Berwick changed bringing in Dane Claus Kristensen for Jan Pedersen. This can be interpreted as a move for the future, replacing an on-loan rider with a young Berwick asset.
Stoke have recruited Jon Armstrong, already a Stoke asset, to replace Wayne Broadhurst. Swindon quickly snapped up Seemond Stephens, releasd by Eastbourne, to replace the struggling David Mason. There are rumours circulating that Martin Dixon is due to be replaced at Kings Lynn and may be back on his way to Berwick.
The availability of Barry Campbell may attract attention from the northern tracks especially after his strong showing in the British Under-21 Final.
Other teams expected to strengthen-up when the new averages become effective include Reading and Glasgow.
