Blair did well to beat local rider Grant MacDonald and has another chance to qualify for the Continental Rounds at the Final after being cheated of a place by the English team management. Ross Brady had a torrid evening. After leading his first race he made a slip on the banking of the last bend allowing Roger Lobb to pass. He won his second race and was leading his third race easily when he suffered an engine failure. In his fourth ride he was again leading from Grant MacDonald when he fell on the first bend on the second or third lap. He did not take up his last ride.

David McAllen started with two third places followed by a second and a win. He went into his last ride at least in contention for the reserve place but suffered an engine failure after working hard to pass Chris Neath for third place.

Three years ago, Blair Scott became the youngest ever winner of a World Championship Qualifying round when he won the British Under-21 Quarter-Final at Linlithgow.

A full report with heat details will appear as soon as it is available.
