Peter Carr Out of Newcastle Match.

Peter Carr is out of tonight's opening Premier National Trophy fixure against Newcastle.

He is replaced by Paul Pickering of Stoke.

Paul has posted some big scores at Armadale for Stoke and as a guest for Berwick. He has also managed a zero for Stoke after sustaining an injury in his second ride.

The last time he guested for Monarchs, replacing Kevin Little against Glasgow at Armadale, he scored 4, two seconds followed by a fall and an engine failure.

I am sure he can do better tonight. He will need to since Newcastle come with two of the best Armadale specialists in Jesper Olsen and Robert Eriksson. Not to mention ex-Monarchs Paul Gould and Steven Jones lower down the order.

Expect a tight match tonight from a visiting team with by far the best record around Armadale. In 1997 they were the only visitors to win at Armadale and they also had a draw in the Premier League Cup qulifier until a late protest over illegal tyres altered the result. They came close in two meetings at Armadale last year.
