Unconfirmed reports from reliable sources in Manchester suggest that Barry Campbell may have signed for Belle Vue for the 1999 season.
Barry had been linked with second string vacancies at Workington and Newcastle but as yet nothing came up.
Last week he issued a "come and get me" plea to Elite League teams struggling to fill a reserve position.
