Linlithgow News
It seems likely that Alan Robertson is on the verge of pulling out of the Linlithgow Lightning Speedway operation. He created the Heathersfield as a training track and helped with the renaissance of Scottish Speedway. Stewart McDonald, Barry Campbell, and Blair Scott are all products of the Linlithgow track. In addition, Grant MacDonald, Brian Turner, and Peter Scully helped their development riding for the Conference double winning Lightning side in 1996
The departure could lead to Linlithgow rejoining the Conference League for 1999. Monarchs promoter, John Campbell, is reported to be about to take over the West Lothian track. The close proximity of Linlithgow to Armadale will make this a good move. Armadale can only be used one night per week and cannot be used for training and practice. Heathersfield has no such limitations.
