Armadale Stadium Developments

Monarchs are moving ahead with improvements to the Lothian Arena at Armadale following the recent decision to extend planning permission for three years by West Lothian Council.

Certain work had to be done to meet conditions laid down in the planning permission extension. The car park has been extended to the satisfaction of the of the planning officers. The resiting of the referee's box and the associated work in connection with moving the start gate to what was the back straight is progressing. This was also a condition on the planning approval.

Mains electricity rather than generators will be used to power the lights this year. A planning application is in to extend the terracing on the former 3rd/4th bend around to what will be the 1st bend. This is expected to be a very popular vantage point for this season.

Also an application is in to build permanent dressing rooms to replace the existing (expensive) hired portakabins.
