Scottish Open Field

The field for the 2001 Scottish Open sponsored by the Fulfilment Factory that will be staged on Friday 20th July at Armadale. It is not certain if Peter Carr will be fit to defend the Trophy he has won three times in the last four years. The only other winner at Armadale, forrmer Monarch Frede Schott will be travelling from Denmark to attempt to regain the Trophy he won in 1998.

The field includes two other Monarchs in Robert Eriksson and Jan Andersen. There are three new Scandinavians in Freddie Lingren, Jimmy Jansson and Glasgow-bound Henning Bager. Other locally-based are Kevin Little (Newcastle) and Emiliano Sanchez (Glasgow). Danny Bird of the Isle of Wight earned an invite from his strong showing earlier this year.

The rest of the field is largely a "who's who" of Edinburgh's favourite guests. This list is headed by David Walsh (Hull) and includes Simon Stead (Sheffield), André Compton (Newcastle), Scott Robson (Berwick), Ray Morton (Isle of Wight) and of course the Demon King himself Phil Morris (Berwick).

Peter Carr will join that list if he is fit. If not a replacement will be found.

There will be pre and post match entertainment from Sambalistic.

Admission will be £10.00 for adults, £7.00 for seniors, £3.50 for children. There will also be family gates at £14.00 for adult and two children and £25.00 for two adults and three children.

The programme will cost £2.00 for a 32-page souvenir edition.

The gates will open at 18.15 for the pre-match entertainment. The grand parade will be at 19.15 and the first race starts at 19.30.
