Morris to replace Eriksson at Berwick

Welshman Phil Morris will guest for Edinburgh at Berwick as well as at home to Workington. This is contrary to earlier reports that Paul Thorp would be standing in. Thorp is not available as Hull visit Workington on Saturday evening.

Berwick have something of an experimental team with four riders on assessed averages, three of them Czech heat leaders on nine points. Sheffield hvae already won at Berwick and as things stand it is probably a 'must win' match for Monarchs if they are to qualify for the later stages of the competition.

Edinburgh should have Blair Scott and Ben Shields back on Friday. If Blair, Christian Henry and Jan Andersen perform at Berwick then Monarchs should have a fair chance of victory.

Edinburgh have a dismal record at Shielfield with only one win in a competitive match since speedway returned to the venue in 1996. This was in the Premier National Trophy in 1999.
