Monarchs sign another Australian!

Monarchs' image of the 'Team Oz' of the Premier League was enhanced following the arrival of a father and son at Armadale.

Lyndon Schlein is joining Monarchs to raise the profile of Armadale Speedway throughout West Lothian, Edinburgh and the Central Belt of Scotland. He will be also looking to generate support from local businesses. Lyndon is from Darwin in the Northern Territory although he has recently been based in Adeleide, South Australia. Lyndon has raced sidecars in Australia and has worked in the promotion of Austrlian Speedway.

Lyndon is over in the UK with son Rory in order to give him more racing experience than would have been possible in Australia. Rory has recently turned 16 and has now been able to ride 500cc bikes. As an under 16, he was restricted to riding 125cc bikes. Rory won the Australian Under-16 Solo Final in Darwin last July. He has had few opportunities since turning 16 although he was reserve for the Under-21 Final at Gillman.

Rory will be riding second halves at Armadale. He appears to have UK patriality. This may make him eligible for Youth Development League matches. It also means that he might be able to come into the Premier League on a three-point average when he is ready to step up. In the meantime it will be interesting to see how he compared with Monarchs' under age second-halvers William Lawson and Andrew Tully.

Rory was in action this afternoon at Armadale during Press and Practice day. Peter Henderson provides the following information:
