Alex Harkess voted in as BSPA Vice Chairman

Alex Harkess has returned to the Management Committee of the British Speedway Promoters Association. He replaces Tony Moles of Workington as Vice Chairman.

Chris Van Straaten of Wolverhampton remains as Chairman. Other members of the Management Committee are Jim Lynch (Peterborough), Colin Pratt (Coventry), and Peter Toogood (Swindon).

Alex is one of the most respected officials in British Speedway. In a previous stint on the Management Committee he was often entrusted with solving disputes involving the self-interested Elite League promoters.

One task that the new committe and the BSPA will have in the coming months is to spend some of the cash from the multi-million pound deal with Sky Television. Much of this cash will be channelled into youth development, training, promoting and marketing, and international speedway.
