Blair Scott dismisses King's Lynn rumours

Blair Scott dismissed rumours that he is set to move to Elite League King's Lynn Knights to take a reserve place.

He has admitted that a move on loan would help to develop his all-track skills. However he has no intention of moving to the Elite League at this stage.

The rumours stemmed from an international 'Best Pairs' meeting staged recently at the Norfolk Arena. Blair represented Scotland at the meeting with teammate Ross Brady. Blair had a good meeting scoring 17 points and spoke to the King's Lynn management. Blair commented in the Edinburgh Evening News:

"I did ride well in the meeting. But I only had informal talks with the King's Lynn management. All they asked me was how well I'd done with Edinburgh this year. There was no offer or hint of a contract."

Scott wisely has rejected a move up at this stage of his career. He probably has observed how many five to six-point riders from the Premier League struggle in the Elite League. His former reserve partner Barry Campbell had a disastrous spell at Belle Vue early last year.

"There is no way I would even consider stepping up into the Elite League, even as a reserve. I would like to concentrate on becoming a heat leader in the Premier League first. And that's going to be hard enough."

Last season when Blair made his transfer request tat was later withdrawn, Armadale was buzzing with rumours that Blair was on his way to Peterborough. This was proved to be totally untrue.

No doubt more such rumours will surface over the close season. Many supporters will hope that the points limit will permit the retention of Blair in the Monarchs' team.

Blair may yet get a late call up to compete in this Sunday's individual Ashfield Classic along with Will Beveridge. Robert Eriksson is also in the event.
