Stoke fixture at Armadale is on

The match between the Edinburgh Forth AM Monarchs and the Stoke Potters is definitely ON tomorrow night, Friday 15th, at Armadale Stadium, start time 7.30pm.

The Monarchs' management have considered the effects of the fuel crisis, and also the fact that the weather forecast is good, and decided to go ahead with the fixture.

Following Edinburgh's great win at Hull on Wednesday, a win over Stoke will give Monarchs 3 points to takes them within 4 points of leaders Exeter.

Hopefully the fuel crisis will have eased by Friday night and both teams and supporters will make it to Armadale.

Anyone without fuel wanting to travel to Armadale might like to consider the following options:

The supporters' bus departs from Regent Road just up the road from the usual departure point in Waterloo Place utside the former Scottish Office building and opposite the old Royal High School. The move is due to the closure of St. Andrews Bus Station for reconstruction. It leaves at 6.30pm and costs £4.00 return for an adult and £2.50 for children.

There is a half-hourly train service from Waverley to Bathgate. These leave at 18 minutes past and 48 minutes past the hour. The journey takes 30 minutes. Armadale stadium is around one and a half miles west of Bathgate Station along the Glasgow Road. Local buses serve that route. It takes between 20 minutes and half an hour to walk from Bathgate. The trains return every hour at 3 minutes past the hour until 11.03pm with the last one departing at 11.45pm. The trains take 28 minutes coming back.

For anyone travelling from Glasgow, there is a bus that leaves at 5.20pm from Buchanan Street Bus Station operated by First that goes to Linlithgow via Armadale (X8). No bus comes back so the best option would be by rain via Bathgate and Edinburgh.
