Hands off Sneddon warning to Glasgow

Glasgow have made another bid to sign an Edinburgh rider. Many will recall how Glasgow tried to sign Peter Carr from parent club Belle Vue behind the back of both the club and the rider two years back. Then during the last close season they tried to do the same with Ross Brady. He had already rejected a bid to move on loan to Glasgow when they went to parent club Peterborough to try and sign him.

Both moves failed and the two riders subsequently signed full time with Edinburgh. The James Grieves/Robert Eriksson saga before the start of this season has been well documented.

The latest Edinburgh rider to be targeted by Glasgow is junior Derek Sneddon. The Falkirk based rider has made rapid progress in the Conference League with Lightning over the last 18 months. He has already signed for Edinburgh and has been tipped for a reserve place with Monarchs in the Premier League next year. Indeed had the propoesed swop deal with Newcastle gone through two weeks ago, Derek might already be in the Edinburgh line-up.

The Monarchs promotion have rejected the bid and issued a 'hands-off' warning to Tigers.
