Christian Henry has indicated that he is happy to return to Moanrchs for the 2001 season provided that they want him back. He feels that he has learned enough to return a better all-round rider if he is given a contract for next year.
Henry said in the Edinburgh Pink:
"I will definately be coming back if I get the chance. However, I've got so much racing planned in Australia when I go home that I haven't sorted out any firm plans yet."
Christian will return to Australia in October at the end of the season and has a hectic programme of racing planned. He will be working for Ivan Mauger and helping out on his tours. He will compete in the Golden Helmet meetings and long track events. He will also be riding at his local track and competing in the Under-21 championship events.
Christian has also got a couple of people testing engines in Australia which he thinks will do well in the Premier League next year.
Despite the problems Chrsitian encountered in a harsh introduction to the Premier League and few 'difficulties' with the promotion, he has no doubt that he made the right decision to join Monarchs:
"It was definately the right choice. Peter and Robert are among the top riders in the league and it's been good to learn from them. The supporters have also been good towards me. They realize that it takes time to settle."
Christian is also full of praise for his close friend Ross Brady and Ross's dad Alistair who helps out in the pits.
If Christian returns next year, he is certain to start at reserve. But he is convinced that he can push his average up to take a second string role. He will know his way around the tracks and, hopefuly will not encounter the mechanical problems that afflicted him in the early part of this year.
Before that he hopes to make a big impact in Australia and expects to be able to beat a lot of the local Queensland riders because of the confidence and experience gained in the Premier League.
