Edinburgh Smash Tigers

Glasgow's pre-match bluster about winning at Armadale exploded in their face when their two-man team were outclassed in every department by a rampant Monarchs side on Friday.

Such was Monarch's dominance that Glasgow recorded only one heat advantage and only two race wins, both for James Grieves. Monarchs' second strings and reserves also did their bit with only four non-scoring rides between the team as opposed to twelve for Glasgow.

Peter Carr picked up an easy 12-point maximum but pulled out of the final heat after hearing noises from his engine. Robert Eriksson was only headed by James Grieves in heat 10 and scored 13 points from five rides. Kevin Little took 9 points from four rides in the difficult number 5 position.

Blair Scott took a ride in the nominated heat. This was well deserved after a brilliant performance in his programmed rides. He passed Mark Courtney to take a paid win behind Robert Eriksson in heat 6. Blair then withstood a heat 8 'golden double' challenge from Les Collins. If that wasn't enough he then beat James Grieves in heat 10 from the back. Blair produced a brilliant outside pass on his former teammate. Blair took 9 paid 10 from five rides.

Ross Brady had paid wins at the expense of Les Collins and Mar Courtney and scored 5 paid 7 from four rides. Christian Henry took 6 points from five rides while Will Beveridge scored 3 paid 5 from three rides despite falling twice.
