Ross Brady fit for Sheffield match

Ross Brady has been declared fit for Edinburgh's Premier League match against champions Sheffield on Friday.

He took a very nasty and unlucky tumble into the fence at Reading on Monday after losing a chain, and on the way home his leg swelled up. At the time it seemed likely that Ross would be out for a while.

However following bathing and exercising, the swelling is now down and the bruising is reducing, so Ross will be lining up for Friday's match.

This is a major boost against a Sheffield team who can no longer be dismissed as Armadale 'no-hopers'. The days of Sheffield being a soft touch at Armadale are long gone. Sean Wilson is capable of scoring points on any track while Robbie Kessler is something of an Armadale specialist. Simon Stead and Paul Lee have all had good meetings at Armadale, notably in the British Under-21 Final earlier this year.

Sheffield did take Edinburgh to a last heat decider in the Premier National Trophy qualifier at Armadale largely down to the points scored by their top-four. Adam Allott also weighed in with some valuble points. If there is a weakness that Edinburgh can exploit it is the Tigers' bottom end.

Adam Allott scored well from reserve in the previous visit when Monarchs were struggling in that department but he has moved up to number 2 and will find points much harder to come by. Simon Cartwright has never scored points at Armadale and Jamie Birkinshaw's record is patchy.

Sheffield have recently emerged as amongst the favourites for the Premier League championship. It is certain to be a tough match if the Sheffield top-four find their best form but Edinburgh should have the all-round strength to win the match. Sheffield now top the Premier League table after their win over Glasgow on Thursday and a win by Monarchs will see them move back too the top of the table.
