Edinurgh went down to a narrow defeat at Reading after losing Ross Brady in injury in his first ride. Ross was lying second in heat 3 when his chain snapped and he was thrown off. The heat was awarded and Ross was signed off for the meeting. It appears that nothing is broken but he is very sore after hitting a fence pole. It is unknown if he will be fit for the visit of Sheffield to Armadale on Friday.
Reading built up a big lead although Will Beveridge had a big 5-1 in heat 2. The lead was cut back after Peter Carr and Blair Scott scored an 8-1 golden double in heat 8. Monarchs did enough to take the bonus point.
Peter Carr top scored with 15 points from six rides including the golden double. Robert Eriksson scored 13 paid 14 from six rides. Will Beveridge took his best score to date with 6 paid 7 from five rides. Kevin Little had 5 paid 6 from four rides. Blair Scott had 3 paid 4 from four while Christian Henry had 2 paid 3 from four rides. Ross Brady failed to score from his single ride.
Current Premier League results and tables are as follows:
Monarchs move on to 13 points one clear of Sheffield and Berwick. They are behind leaders Exeter on race points difference.
One piece of good news was that Blair Scott appears to have patched up his difficulties with Monarchs and withdrawn his transfer request.
