Blair Scott 'awarded' a maximum

Blair Scott's three wins in the 12-heat rain affected match against Arena Essex has been recognized a a full maximum by Speedway Star magazine.

Blair unfortunately did not get the opportunity to win his fourth ride. He was due to go out against Jan Pedersen and Jon Underwood in heat 14 alongside Ross Brady and looked odds-on for a win or paid win.

It was Blair's 125th match in the Premier League since making his debut for the Scottish Monarchs in 1996.

After some deliberation, Speedway Star decided that Blair should be credited with a full maximum. Robert Eriksson was also credited with a full maximum and Peter Carr a paid maximum.

Blair puts his improvement in form down to a change in engine tuner. Blair was really flying a his new engine in the early stages of the season but has not been able to get it going properly since a rebuild.

Blair added before facing Workington on Friday:

"My normal tuner was away in Australia so I sent it to another tuner, and bingo - three wins in three heats. The wins have given me fresh confidence and I'm hoping to keep it going."

Blair came up with two heat wins against Workington, albeit in the 'easier' heats 2 and 8. However a fall in heat 7 when second helped to restrict his score to 8 points.

Blair now has another five matches at reserve before moving back up the order, presumably to number two. This includes home matches against Arena Essex and Newcastle plus away matches at Berwick, Workington and Newcastle.
