The Green Sheet Averages for July have June 15th as the cut-off date. Monarchs' next Premier League fixture is at home to Workington on June 16th. With the Premier League Cup matches next week against Arena Essex not counting for the purpose of Green Sheet Averages, Sunday's match at Glasgow was the last one to be included.

The implications of the Green Sheet Averages for the team are that Will Beveridge will move down to reserve next month. Blair Scott will move back up to second string and Kevin Little will remain as heat leader despite his patchy recent form.

Blair will have the rest of the month to build-up his confidence at reserve before being asked to take on a tougher position in the team. Will now has to sort out his equipment because his spell at reserve will include the crucial first Southern tour to Stoke, Newport and Reading. These are all tracks where an on-form Monarchs' side should be looking for a win. The Exeter leg of the second and tougher Southern tour to also including the Isle of Wight and Swindon starts in July. Points from reserve will be critical in these matches.

The results mean that Monarchs will be cast iron certainties to qualify for the Premier League Best Pairs final at Workington on July 8th. The teams are seeded to the final based on the July average of the top two riders in each team. Robert Eriksson and Peter Carr are likely to face teams from Workington (Carl Stonehewer and Mick Powell), Sheffield (Sean Wilson and Robbie Kessler), and Swindon (Frank Smart and Paul Fry) amongst others.

The detailed averages are given in the following location:

Monarchs Averages

The results indicate that the outstanding form showed by Peter Carr and Robert Eriksson in the Premier National Trophy has been carried over into the Premier League. Both are averaging close to eleven points after three matches, two of them away from home. If Monarchs can find a third heat leader able to score points consistently, they must be capable of a challenge for the Premier League. If not, then it could be another year where they come close but fail to win that elusive trophy.
