Ross Brady should finally return to the Monarchs side this weekend for the three matches that are crucial to Edinburgh's diminishing chances of progression in the Premier National Trophy.
The freak accident on a 275cc trials bike happened after Kenny McKinna suggested to the former Scottish Schoolboy Motocross Champion that it would do a lot for his control. It emerged in Speedway Star that Brady's father Alistair and elder brother Rex werealso injured trying to ride up the same bank.
The accident was a major contributory factor in Monarchs' two Premier National Trophy defeats at Berwick and at home to Workington.
The Monarchs promotion reacted to reports over last weekend that Brady was to be disciplined for the incident. John Campbell added:
"We would have had a better chance of victory gainst Berwick and Workington had Ross been riding."
"People talk about unfortunate accidents in speedway but not in your back yard where Ross fell off. I'm not overjoyed at not having Ross available. However, we cannot backtrack."
"But if we are one point short of qualification, then I'm sure that Ross will blame himself. However I still think we can progress."
"The good thing is that Workington are beating everyone, except Sheffield. It will come down to what we do against other members of in our group."
Things may be a little clearer after the meetings held this weekend inclding the May Day fixtures.
