Edinburgh win without injured Brady

Monarchs' injury situation took a new twist one day before they open their Premier National Trophy campaign at Berwick. No sooner than Brian Turner was back in action against medical advice when key second string Ross Brady was out through injury.

Ross made been trying out on a trials bike in order to improve his control, allegedly on the advice of Kenny McKinna when he hurt his foot. Two toes were broken. Ross was at Armadale but using crutches. He hopes to be back in action at Berwick on Saturday but that will depend on his speed of recovery. If there is one track where Monarchs will really need an on-form and it Ross Brady it is Berwick.

Rider replacement was used against the Czechs although Derek Sneddon, the debut boy at number 8 took all four of Brady's rides.

Edinburgh won the match without difficulty with Peter Carr, Kevin Little, and especially Robert Eriksson proving too hot for the Czechs.

Derek Sneddon looked impressive despite failing to score. Christian Henry appeared more assured on the track than last time out and was always in contention despite not making any starts. Brian Turner had four trouble free heats.

Former Elite League star, Toma Topinka, was the pick of the Czech side. He became the first visitor to Armadale to beat Peter Carr on the track this season.
