Ross Brady admitted that his failure to qualify from the British Under-21 Championship was down to him not listening to his dad!
Ross relived his Armadale nightmare and confessed:
"If I had listened to my dad's advice I might have qualified for the world rounds."
Brady was a clear favourite to qualify and even was seen as an outside bet for the championship itself. He ended up in twelfth place when he only scored five points. Ross failed to make any starts and seems to be lacking speed.
It was revealed that Ross had a disagreement with his father over which engine to use. Ross added:
"I decided to use an engine which served me well last season and had it brought up. However the barrel only arrived a few hours before the first race. My dad wanted me to use my other bike, but I did pay any heed. I should have done, but it's easy to say that now."
"I eventually switched to my other motor, but by that time my head was away with it. I had got it into my head it was a good engine but not quite as good as I thought."
Ross faced a tough opening heat against Lee Richardson and Simon Stead. He eventually trailed home last after failing to pass Chris Neath. This destroyed his confidence. He made little impression on the meeting after that. Ross said of the opening heat:
"I didn't think I would finish last. I was hoping for second place. I was a total disaster and I stuffed up."
