Eriksson and Scott in Glasgow Opener

The Scottish Speedway season starts at Glasgow a week on Sunday with an individual "Welcome to 2000" meeting. This meeting includes a preliminary event with a field of of six with two qualifying for a main event with a total field of twelve riders.

The field for this meeting includes the four fit members of the Glasgow top five. James Grieves has been forced to miss out with a foot injury. They are joined by former Glasgow riders Paul Bentley, Jesper Olsen, and Will Beveridge plus the 'nearly a Tiger' Paul Thorp. Robert Eriksson and Blair Scott complete the team for the main event.

The Tigers reserves Scott Courtney and Aidan Collins will compete with Glasgow juniors Robert McNeil, Gary Flint, Jittendra Duffil, and Mark McIlkenny for the remaining two places in the main event.
