Edinburgh promoter John Campbell branded rivals Glasgow Tigers a "pain in the backside" following their latest bid for teenage sensation Ross Brady.
The bid to transfer Brady from parent club Peterborough was made without the knowledge or approval of the rider concerned. This echoed a similar move last close season to go over Peter Carr's head and buy his contract from Belle Vue after he had turned down a bid from Tigers.
Ross himself has never wavered in his desire to remain with Monarchs. He commented in the Edinburgh Pink:
"I wnt to stay with Edinburgh because I enjoyed myself last season. Edinburgh's dealings with me have been first class. They have been superb over this issue and this has heightened my opinion of the club."
John Campbell was clearly annoyed over the incident and added:
"I think Glasgow genuinely believe that bad publicity is good for them and I can't quite understand what they are doing. All they seem to have done is to announce at regular intervals that they haven't signed this, that or the other."
"Glasgow go about things the wrong way and are a pain in the backside to put it mildly."
