Brady seals trophy
A TREMENDOUS individual display by reserve Ross Brady led the Edinburgh Monarchs to their first silverware of the season when they defeated Workington Comets 46-44 at Derwent Park on Saturday to lift the Spring Trophy 95-84 on aggregate.
The Capital side's triumph was tempered slightly by a leg injury suffered by Peter Carr who crashed in heat nine. Carr was taken to the hospital for precautionary X-rays but was released later and will be fit for this week's home tie against Newcastle Diamonds in the Premier National Trophy.
Brady claimed 15 points from six outings, which included four wins.
