Re-introducing Zena Lamb.

Zena, no relation at all to Scott Lamb, was a character who appeared in the 40's and 50's in that glorious publication The Speedway Gazette.

Every week there was a Zena Lamb short story always accompanied with a scantily clad drawing. She rescued riders from spivs, spies and smugglers, saved Speedway tracks from falling into the hands of unscrupulous promoters or land developers and helped fans who got lost travelling from track to track.

Jimmy Mac has the entire collection of Speedway Gazette and it's fascinating reading. I wish the Editor and writers for the Star would just see one copy.

The Gazette reported on Speedway with fun, enthusiasm and a genuine love for the sport. The artwork is brilliant - hopefully over the next few months I'll reproduce some more.

The reports are written from the heart, the articles racy and informative with each writer using their own style and command of the language.

There are jokes, SPEEDWAY puzzles, cartoons - my kind of mag.
